Spring is Finally Here!
The bunnies are busy hopping to and from. They are so darn cute!
Well, in that it is Spring, if your yard is like mine- the bunnies are also busy multiplying. Yikes!
Play the Funny Bunny Game
Speaking of bunnies, I have a family fun game you might like and I’m offering it as one of two April give-aways. They are my gift to you this month because I so appreciate you.
The game is called Funny Bunny. If you know how to draw, like to draw, want to learn the basics of drawing or just looking to join in on some fun- this game is for you. I promise, everything you need is included in the download. You will need a few simple supplies and your imagination. You do not need to raid a craft store for anything special, nor do you need any expertise! :p Just download and have fun! If you’re a teacher, home schooler, or teacher’s helper, you may like to know this game is educational, as well as fun.
When I play it, I see students who thought they couldn’t draw get encouraged as they follow the steps. I see those who confidently draw have fun doing something that is not on a screen. Funny Bunny as a way of engaging imagination and silliness. (who doesn’t love to hear children giggling?) :p I hope you will give it a try. It encourages family togetherness, which I really love. Download it here!
Important: The files are “zipped.” Double click on the funny-bunny.zip file and the file will open and reveal PDF files. All you need is a printer and you’re good 🙂
The True Meaning of Easter
Obviously, bunnies are not what Easter is about but celebrating God’s matchless love for us by raising His only begotten Son, Jesus from death to life- is. So what can you and I do to foster this kind of love with each other in our celebration of Easter?
We can look at what God’s Word has to say about our greatest example of love.
Love Himself. From there, we can form our celebration of Easter around activities that would glorify God. What will give you an opportunity to show and tell that kind of love with each other? I have seen God use many an Easter Egg hunt to draw people to church who don’t normally attend church. I’ve seen families so impressed with how welcomed and love they felt from their experience at the hunt, decide to become members of the church. You never know what God will use to draw people to Himself.
He Is Love
His love is an unfailing. It is unconditional. His love matchless love for “whosoever will” is so intense it led Him to walk Calvary road for us.
He endured unfathomable shame and suffering. He should have died walking calvary’s road bleeding to death. History tells us of the horror Jesus endured on His way to the cross. His body was so badly ripped, bleeding, beaten and mangled…He was raw flesh hanging on a cross…not recognizable. He should be dead from the beatings. He should have died with one more tear of His flesh from the first nail. He should have died from the thought of His Father needing to turn His back as He is made the sacrifice for all sin. He should have died as all the effects of sin such as disease is laid on Him. Malaria alone should have killed Him. He should have died from a broken heart seeing and hearing the mocks and jeers of His own people while He hung so seemingly helpless…there.
But the Bible says, He endured!
It isn’t humanly possible, history says.
To that I say, “Amen.” It wasn’t humanly possible. It was only possible if He was who He said He was: the God-man, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the true long awaited for Messiah, the Savior of the Word, The Redeemer, Emmanuel, Wonderful, Councilor, The Mighty God, the Prince of Peace…
The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. He was here, in person, in our world with one purpose. To accomplish His Father’s will. What a harsh mission, we say. What kind of “Father” would put His Son through…that?
One that so loved all the “whosoever’s” of the world He created. (John 3:16)
What was so joyous that it kept Jesus walking the road to Calvary?
The Prize Before Him: You and I
The prize before Him. The vision that by this, His sacrifice, this once and for all sacrifice many would be made righteous.
How did He endure such shame and suffering? The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:1, Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered. The more He fixed His eyes on His Father and the prize before Him, the greater His strength and endurance. Obeying God’s will gave Him unspeakable joy.
His joy came as a result of obedience to His Father’s will. What was the plan, the prize, the goal? Jesus would be to all humanity the Redeemer. Savior of the world. We needed Him. He knew that. We didn’t. Only He could be the sacrifice to set us free. This was His Father’s will.
The matchless grace of God and His undying love for us is something we can’t fathom. It’s too high a truth. What is that truth? While we were yet sinners (not worthy of saving) Jesus died for us. His love looked beyond our faults and saw our need.
He could have used the last gasp of air He had left in His lungs to breathe damnation on the world and freedom for Himself; Instead, His undying love cried, “It is Finished.” The debts been paid. The grave is empty.
Death was conquered. Our Savior and Redeemer lives!
